Godzilla, Frankenstein and Weeble Wobble

You might be thinking to yourself...what the heck kind of title is that?!?!?! Well is all has to do with learning to walk. When Zachary started walking good he would hold his arms above his head and walk around; sometimes right behind a crawling sibling. So we came up with the nickname of Godzilla. Then Alexander started walking and when he was just starting he would walk with his arms out straight like Frankstein, so that became his nickname. Well with our third and final walker, miss Elizabeth, there was not a very clear character that she looks like. Although she is improving everyday, she is very weeble wobbly, therefore Weeble Wobble is her nickname.
They are starting to talk rather than cooing or crying so I am sure more nicknames will come. It does seem like they have a language only they understand which I am sure will become more pronounced. We are currently working on Mommy, Daddy, Kitty, Puppy. They will even whisper talk to us....it is just too cute.
They have had many nicknames. It all depends on the milestones that they are hitting or how they act. It has been fun to come up with new ones.
Well just wanted to share how everyone is doing with walking.

Escape artist and climber....guess who?

So this last week Sunday one of the kids figured out how to get out of the play area. For those that do not know how we have it set up here is a description. We used their 'baby jail' as a fence. It is supported by the toybox, a basket of books and a basket of stuff animals. Well Zach figured out that if he moved the basket of stuff animals and pulled the fence in slightly, then he could get on the other side. And he slowly gets out. I was sitting at the table eating lunch and thought I saw something out of the corner of my eye, then I hear pounding. Yup Zach had gotten out and zoomed by me and went to the bathroom to pound on the toilet. He is a fast one.
So what does he do this Sunday to top last Sunday? Well, climb out of the play area. We have a toy that is a table and that has setup against the fence and couch. Zach climbed on top of the toy/table, then onto the couch and to the couch arm. He proceeded to knock the laptop of the end table (which is why I came into the room). So now nothing can be by the fence that he can climb onto or he will get out.
Little stinker!!!

PS For all that wonder if them getting older is easier, not necessarily...new challenges!!!

Rummage Sale, Tongue Piercing, Family Trip

So the title might have you wondering about what is going on around here!!!
Well first I wanted to let everyone know how the rummage sale went. It went much better than I anticipated; sold a lot more and made a lot more. The rummage started on Friday morning at 8. While we (my mom and I) were finishing setting up Thursday night, we had two different people stop to ask about stuff we had. I had told them both that I would be ready to go by 7:30 the next morning so if they wanted to come early I would be there. Well when I walked out our front door at 7:30 I was met with four different people wanting to get in. I barely got the door unlocked/opened and the lights on and they were already gathering things to buy. Friday flew by, we did not sit down much (actually only for lunch, I think). I had a lady that bought 3 garbage bags of clothing and blankets for a church mission; another lady bought a bunch to send to Honduras; a lady starting a in home daycare (who lives by the airport in Milwaukee, which is quite a drive) that bought a bunch of the larger items; I met a triplet mom-to-be; and a nanny for triplets. It was an exciting day and the kids slept great as they had quite a lot of things to watch during the day. Saturday was a LOT slower but still sold a little more. All the money we made from the rummage is going into college funds for the kids. We are happy to get them start...only one year late so we have some catching up to do. :)
So you may be wondering who got their tongue pierced. Well no one really, but Zachary did attempt to. I was cleaning up after supper one night, Jeremy was working in the yard and the kids were playing in their play area. Zachary decided that the toy box just had to be moved, so he moved it. While he was showing off he caught his chin on the back of it and put his tooth thru (not all the way) his tongue. He starting screaming bloody murder so I ran in to find blood pouring from his mouth. I swooped him up and shoved the paper towel I had into his mouth to figure out what was bleeding. The windows were open so I start screaming to Jeremy that I needed help. Needless to say the bleeding stopped and he went back to playing as if nothing had happened. You can still see the cut but it is healing. He is our bruiser!!!
Finally, our first family trip. We had planned on taking the family on our first trip together. There is a fraternity event happening in Platteville that the whole family has been invited to this weekend. I made hotel reservations for the whole family including the dog. Unfortunately, we all have fallen ill....again! So our plans changed. Jeremy is still going and I am staying home with the kiddos. I had looked forward to the getaway but it just is not worth getting others sick or for the kids to get more sick. So we will wait until we plan our first family vacation this summer.
Well that is it for now. March pictures will be the next post.

Surprising Sunday!!!

So we officially now have 3 walkers....that is right...all three are walking!!! Liz would take a step here and there but she had no real desire to walk until yesterday. Jeremy put her down on the floor after lunch and she decided instead of falling to her knees and crawling she decided to walk half way across the room. So technically all started to walk prior to the corrected first birthday.

So yesterday also marks the end of the first year with Alex home. A year ago yesterday is the day we brought our first baby home. It was a bittersweet moment as we had to leave the other two in the hospital. Last year it did not seem like there was so much time between their birth and bringing them home, BUT as of yesterday it seems like it was ages ago that we celebrated their 1st birthday. I think we ran an a lot of adrenaline last year while they were in the NICU.

And finally...yesterday we needed to go grocery shopping. Normally one of us goes while the other stays and watches the kids. Jeremy was the one to go to the store yesterday, but he did nto go by himself. For the first time Jeremy took one of the kids out with him. Alex was the first one up from his nap so he was the lucky one to go. Both him and daddy did a great job. It is not often that we split them up, so even these little things are big to us.

Here's a little trivia:
Can you tell who is who? Just leave your guess in the comment section. Good luck ;)
Hope everyone is doing well. I am still working on getting March pictures on, soon I promise!

1st BIG baby rummage sale

This post is not an exciting one but important (or at least I think so). We finally have the date set for our 1st BIG rummage sale. The triplets are now one, so some cleaning needed to be done. We are overflowing with things that are no longer needed. So we are having our first rummage sale. It will be next week Friday and Saturday. So if you are in the area, feel free to stop by. Just a few things we have: exersaucers, jumperoos, swing, bouncers, moses baskets, floor gyms, toy, clothes for both boy and girl preemie to 12mos., towels, washclothes, nuk, blankets, etc. If you have any questions, just let us know. Spread the word!!!
Now back to getting ready for it. Fun, fun!!
Jen
Ok here is a pic from the end of March when the kids were helping me put stuff on eBay...yes that is the rubbermaid container that the stuff was in prior to the kids taking it over. Even though it does not look like they are having fun...they were!!! :)

The Results

So we are back from our little trip. We had high expectations for the trip. Unfortunately, things fell a little short of what we expected but we made the best of the situation. So where did we go? Well not too far...only to Janesville which is approx. 1 1/2 to 2 hours away from here. There were very few B&Bs in the area, so the one we settled on was the Scarlett House Bed & Breakfast. It only had three rooms to choose from so we chose one of the suites. The only thing I will say about the B&B is that we have been spoiled by the previous two B&Bs we have stayed at. We got there Friday afternoon, got checked in and settled and then went to check out the downtown area. We hit one antique store and then head to a bar. After a couple drinks, we found a place to eat supper. If you did not know, Jeremy and I are big fans of pizza. So we had found Lisa's Pizzaria. Not knowing if it was a good place or not we set out to find it. It was very good! After picking up some snacks and beverages, we headed back to our room. We could barely keep our eyes open past 9 o'clock....how pathetic!!! Saturday started out with a delicious breakfast. Our plans for the day were to hit the anitque mall, then go to the Gray's Brewery and head to Milton. Well our plan quickly went down the toilet. The 'antique mall' was anything but a 'mall' and the brewery was closed. So back to the room we went. After discussing our options we decided to continue on to the Harley store, where we picked up some shirts for the kids, and to continue on to Milton and make the best of the day. After lunch, we headed out of town to Milton. There were two antique stores that we were going to check out and maybe do some sightseeing as Milton is a very historic town. Well the 1st antique store we went to was huge. We found many treasures and ended up being there until closing time. On the way back to the B&B we went past 2 pizza places. When it was time to eat dinner I called the 1st place but the phone was busy so I called the 2nd place, Tony and Maria's Pizzaria. We ordered the pizza and waited the hour before going and picking it up. OMG!!! The pizza was GREAT!!! The pizzaria was a small little building...enough room for the three workers and the ovens...just a little counter to pay at...and one chair for waiting. We were both glad the 1st place had a busy phone. Again we were falling asleep by 9pm. Sunday morning we had another good breakfast. After breakfast we got ready and headed home.
As difficult as it was to leave the kids on Friday, it was a much needed break. I cried when I said goodbye to them...could barely say 'I love you' to them as I was trying not to becoming a bawling idiot. It was hard not to call every minute to see what they were doing. They were on my mind A LOT. I only called 3 times, which I thought was pretty good. Oh it was so great to see them on Sunday. If I could have I probably would have jumped out of the car prior to Jeremy parking it, but I did not. I got out as fast as I could, got in the house, took of my shoes, quickly said hi to Baylee, and got into the play area as fast as I could. I grabbed the three of them up and gave them all a great big hug. Although they were happy to see us they were a little pre-occupied with playing.
How did my parents do? GREAT!!! They did a fabulous job. Although mom was a little tired on Sunday, she said she'd do it again. They had a great time with them as did the kids with them.
All went well, so there will be future getaways. Now on to our next adventure...today we will be going to the clinic I work at to introduce the kids (in person) to my co-workers and boss, then maybe going to Walgreen to pick up Baylee's prescription.
Sorry so long...I tried to condense it...but it still was long.

First getaway!!!

Hello Everyone
So it is Thursday night about 10:30. I am working on a last minute to-do checklist for tomorrow morning. Cuz you see we are going on our first getaway since the kids were born. As a Christmas present in 2006 (while we were pregnant), Jeremy's parents gave us gift certificates for a Bed & Breakfast in Wisconsin. Well we decided to finally use it. It took MANY days to figure out where exactly we wanted to go. We wanted to be able to do things we both enjoy - for me...antiques, for Jeremy...beer. So we decided on Janesville. It is not far from home, but still a getaway. We are planning to go to The Antique Mall of Janesville as well as Gray's Brewery. We are looking forward to two FULL nights of sleep as well as sleeping in a little - things we have not done since....well I can't remember when. So who is taking care of the kids...well Grandma and Grandpa. They will be staying at our house, which is way more convenient then packing the kids up to go 1 1/2 miles down the road. I have typed up a 7 page book of helpful hints for the kids as well as the furkids. Although I am feeling anxious, I am excited to be getting away. I know my parents will do great! The longest I have been away from the kids was just about 24 hours so this will be about 48 hours and that is what makes me most anxious. I am not sure I know what to do without them around. ;) Well I should go and finish up a few things before bed. I will let you all know how our getaway goes as well as how grandma and grandpa do with the trio.
Love, Jen
PS March pictures will be up soon!!!
