Blanket Tents

While I took the cats and dog to the vet today to give them their Christmas present (update their vaccines) daddy and the kids had a fun time with blankets. He helped them make tents. Looks like they had fun! I loved making tent with blankets...Jackie and I made some great forts in our bedroom...from the dressers to the beds and from bed to bed...basically had enough room to open the door and that was it...and we were always striving for better. I can't wait until they make them on their own and play in them. Enjoy!

Baking with mommy

Although I did not get baking done like I wanted to this year I did make it a priority to make cookies for both our moms, the kids' daycare and our old mailman (he is no longer our mailman, but his family has been very thoughtful of our family). So the baking started tonight. I decided on snickerdoodles, a cookie the kids could help me with. So I got everything ready and then they were in charge of the rolling the dough in the cinnamon/sugar mixture. They loved it as well as the cookies! We got some in the oven so they cooked while the kids changed into their jammies, then we got to test the final product. They love helping in the kitchen. Enjoy!

More snow time

Yesterday a path was made from my aunt and uncle's farm house to our house for sledding purposes. Today while I was out doing the last of the Christmas shopping my aunt Deb wanted to try it out with the kids. Jeremy has had a back issue for the last week, so getting the kids dressed and ready to go was quite the feat for him, but I think he enjoyed it. I got home ans Liz was ready to come in, but the boys wanted to continue, so daddy stayed out with them.
Here is the crew playing with the toys that I should have gotten in before it snowed but just ran out of time...oops!
Daddy then took the boys to the from for some snow removal as Liz and I cuddled inside...they were happy to help esp since they know daddy's back is hurt.

Making Footprints in the Snow

We finally got out today to play in all that snow we got. The kids had a blast. Liz was all about playing and the boys were all about workin'. They worked on clearing snow. Daddy is going to love the help once they are big enough. Here are the pictures from the little bit of time outside. Enjoy!

Deck the Halls

Tonight we decided to get some lights and ornaments on our Christmas tree. After jammies were on we headed to the breezeway. Prior to going out I got a picture of my super heroes...
The first thing to do was put the topper on as well as the lights...here the boys watch intently as daddy works on the topper...
This tree was so big...so big it broke our tree stand and filled the large room...
Since they were unable to help with the lights the kids found other thigns to keep themselves busy...everyone get a blanket and pillow...almost thought we not make it to the kids helping us...
Zach trying to help daddy fix a light issue...
Finally ornament time...since the kids helped grandma put some ornaments on her tree while they were there overnight when we went to Jeremy's work holiday party, they knew how to put the hooks on...here is Liz showing me her ornament is ready to go on the tree...
The boys working on their ornaments...
Sadly the few ornaments the kids put on tonight are the only ornaments that got onto our tree. Honestly the kids loved it anyways.

The ones that did not make the cut

Finally got our Christmas cards ordered. I did not have time to get a good picture so I was trying to use ones I have taken, but nothing looked right. Finally I had the kids dressed nice today and kind of Christmas-y, so I decided to "try" to get a good one. I took the pics in front of our non-decorated Christmas tree...oh well can't have it perfect all the time. Here are some of the ones that did not make it. Enjoy!

Our Winter Wonderland

We drove home from Montfort in a small snow storm. There was a small hole in the storm. We hit it probably at the best time we could as once we got home it was snowing pretty bad and did not let up until morning. The snow was wet and very heavy. We got a total of 11 1/2"!!! It makes everything look so pretty and the kids love watching it snow and seeing it. Here are some pictures that I took from the house. Enjoy!
